Scone Jump Club plans to offer their support for those affected by the Queensland Flood Crisis by donating all of the funds generated in showjumping rounds at their 16 January Training Day to RSPCA Queensland.
There are a number of horse studs and equestrian centres in Toowoomba and South East Queensland that have been devastated by flooding and violent stormwater, and the RSPCA is actively participating in animal rescue, setting up temporary animal shelters and finding foster carer’s for rescued animals.
SJC President, Marcia Williamson said “It’s essential that the RSPCA in flood affected areas receive help as soon as possible. We ask that our members consider making their own personal donations to RSPCA Queensland, and that other equine businesses and organisations get on board as well.”
Secure online donations can be made at https://donate.rspcaqld.org.au/flood/ or by calling (07) 3426 9972 credit card and direct debit donations can also be made. The RSPCA have requested monetary donations rather than contributing goods because of the cost of transportation and logistics.
